As both an evaluator and researcher, Tim Hulse’s work has focused on understanding and improving the implementation and outcomes of counter extremism, peacebuilding, and development projects. He has evaluated interventions in a wide range of programming areas, including advocacy, governance, capacity building, education, networks, and civil society funding.
Tim’s recent evaluations include the Mayor of London’s flagship prevention funding scheme, the Shared Endeavour Fund, which was featured in an EU–UN compendium of evaluation best practice. Additionally, he investigated the value derived by mayors and local governments from their engagement with the Strong Cities Network, a global network of cities aimed at addressing hate, extremism, and polarization. He has also designed and delivered training courses on monitoring, evaluation, and research methods for civil society organizations, governments, and other stakeholders.
